GOD’S COFFEE

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some
expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said:
“If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.
Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.
What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups… And then you began eyeing each other’s cups.
Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of Life we live.
Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us.”
God brews the coffee, not the cups………. Enjoy your coffee!

Tips On How To Live Frugal and God's Way
Webster's Dictionary tells us the definition of Frugal is: not wasteful, thrifty, inexpensive or meager.
I believe this is the way Our Lord, Jesus wants us to live. To get back to the basics, so to speak. So, this message will be coming from a Biblical point of view. With the economy the way it is now, anyone to use this message. As many of you know, I am going to school to be a Christian Counselor. The number one topic that couples argue and fight about is thier money/finances. Many couples are in financial bondage. There is a way out, and it can only happen with God! If this is where you are today, I encourage you to seek Christian Counseling.
I can suggest a couple great books. That is: "Debt-Free Living, How to Get Out of Debt and Stay Out" by Larry Burkett. "Debt-Proof Living" by Mary Hunt. "Cents and Sensibility-How couples can agree about money" by Scott and Bethany Palmer.
I believe that God wants us to live thrifty and not be wasteful. He tells us in His Word that he wants us to start off by giving 10% to Him. We are storing treasures in Heaven when we do this. When we start having the mindset that all we have comes from the Lord anyway, it changes how we view money and finances.
Talking about wasteful(from the definition), I see this all over the nation. People want bigger, better of everything. They believe we'll just throw that away and get what we want. God tells us in HIs word that if he can't trust us with the small things he surely can't with the big things.
For thrifty, the definition in Webster's dictionary is grasp economy. Isn't that amazing? That's what this nation is going through! We need to grasp the economy.
There are so many ways that people can be thrifty. For one, how about cooking some healthy food instead of buying so much fast food? Support out local farmers (in your area of the country). You are actually helping your local economy this way. You are buying yummy, healthful produce (in which to make these healthful meals). What about shopping and donating to your local thrift stores? There is nothing wrong with buying and using used clothes. It will help you get out of debt.
Pay off those credit cards! If you have them, pay more than the minumin. Make a budget and stick to it.
Here's a simple thing I recently learned about. You can use vinegar for cleaning. It's a natural product. So, it's good for the environment as well. Read my post on cleaning naturally. It's amazing because it's frugal as well. Baking soda is great for scrubbing (like tubs in the bathroom). It's really cheap/frugal. This is also good for the enviroment.
Check out my post on being a Proverbs 31 women. I believe she is a frugal women. She has to be to do all those things.
